Wisconsin's
Great River Road flanks the majestic and magnificent Mississippi River as it
leisurely
winds
its way along 250 miles of Wisconsin's western border. Along its way, the
road is nestled between the river on one side and towering bluffs on the
other, becoming one of the most scenic drives in mid-America. Most of the
time the road parallels the river, but when the road does meander a short
distance away, it treats its guests to vistas of rolling farmland as well as
beautiful forested valleys and coulees. The 33 quaint river towns along this
Byway proudly reveal their culture and heritage through their festivals and
the 19th and 20th Century architecture of their homes, business blocks,
storefronts, mansions, and more. DIRECTIONS:
From Minneapolis/St. Paul:
Take Hwy 61 South
2 miles before Hastings, take
Hwy 10 East across the Mississippi River and into Prescott, WI.
In Prescott, take Hwy 35 South.
Proceed through Diamond Bluff,
Hager City and Bay City
After crossing the Rush River, just
before entering the village of Maiden Rock there is a village sign
Turn left when you reach the first
streetlight
That will be 385th Avenue
Then take the first right onto
110th Street
Follow the road up the hill past
the Maiden Rock cemetery and our sign and private driveway will be at the
top of the hill on the left
